What Do In-Person Services Look Like?
Participants develop an individualized service and employment action plan with clear goals. They learn through real workplace experience and hands-on job sampling in local businesses. Support is focused on helping participants get and keep a job. Additional supports include access to mental health resources to promote overall wellbeing and workplace success.


Who is eligible to participate? Eligible participants are people who:
- Self-identify as Autistic, Neurodivergent, and/or as a person with a disability
- Are motivated and actively looking for work
- Are ready to pursue employment within the next 6 weeks
- Want to learn how to prepare for and find employment
- Need support to keep a job
- Have a valid Social Insurance Number (SIN)
- And have the legal right to work in Canada (for example, Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or individuals with refugee status)
What is the service format?
EmploymentWorks has two phases and supports last up to one year.
The two phases are: Getting and Keeping Work.

Phase 1:
Getting Work
Participants develop an individualized employment action plan and meet weekly one-to-one with a facilitator to review progress, adjust next steps, and actively pursue employment. The service focuses on connecting participants to real workforce opportunities and practical experience.
Activities include:
- Individualized employment action planning.
- Regular one-to-one facilitator support.
- Active job search and employer engagement.
- Workplace exposure opportunities to explore role fit and build experience.
- Targeted skill development through eLearning modules, LinkedIn Learning, and in-person group sessions.

Phase 2:
Keeping Work
Participants who get a job can continue to access job supports to help them succeed in their new role.
Job supports may include:
- Equipment or tools needed to perform job tasks and enhance the work environment.
- In-Person Job Coaching to support adjustment, skill development, and workplace success.
- Funded Work Experience to help offset employer costs related to onboarding and training.

EmploymentWorks helps you get a job by providing personalized planning, one-to-one support, active job search guidance, and hands-on workplace experience. Once you get a job, ongoing supports such as job coaching, workplace accommodations, funded work experience, and access to mental health resources are available to help you succeed and stay employed.
Yes. EmploymentWorks provides regular one-to-one support with a facilitator. You will work together to develop your individualized service and employment action plan, review progress, and take next steps toward getting and keeping a job.
Participants may receive support for up to 12 months from their service start date. Funding for the current project is set to expire on March 31, 2027. Continued services beyond this date are subject to funding availability.
You do not need previous work experience. The service is intended for people who are ready and able to begin actively looking for work right now.
EmploymentWorks is offered at no cost to eligible participants.
